“I am proud to be appointed technical adviser as it is the first time that I am being appointed the technical adviser of a club. Its a honour for His Excellency to have respect and confidence in me to take charge of the team and take it to the place that he is dreaming of .
We have been  following the vision that he has because for an individual to come out and buy a club and to spend millions of naira building such a stadium is not easy. That shows you that he is serious with this soccer business.
“By his grace, we are here with John Obuh, who has been in charge of the team but the board decided to elevate him to the technical director of the team. And Ike Shorunmu, who is now the goalkeeper trainer. With such a team with proven pedigree, we are taking this club somewhere great.. We should forget all that happened in the last month because that is the way football goes at times.
“We will fortify the team and bring in one or two good players so that we can take the team to the next level. But on our part, we will do our best to ensure that we get the ticket to represent Nwewi, Anambra and Nigeria in the continent, the first in history from this state.
“The most important thing in football is results. I am a seasoned coach, who loves being o the pitch. I am the first ex-international who came back from Europe to take charge of a Premier League side, Nasarawa United. Nobody knew about Nasarawa United at that time but I went there, finished fourth in the Super Four and wet as far as the quarter-final stage of the Champions League.
“I love challenges. If you don’t want to be challenged, then you don’t have any business being in the league. In the last couple of years, where ever you see His Excellency, you see me. It is not about money. It has gone beyond money. “It is the belief and respect that he has for me that made him to choose me for this job. And I love to take up the challenge and promise that everybody will smile at the end of the season”, added the former 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner.

Diego Costa says Chelsea need to keep a 'cool head' after horror start to the season as striker admits he is still not fully fit

He's seen as one of the Barclays Premier League's most volatile players, but Chelsea striker Diego Costa has urged his team-mates to keep a 'cool head' despite their early-season woes.
The striker, 26, failed to fire again as the champions were downed 3-0 at Manchester City on Sunday to leave them without a win from their opening two games for the first time in 16 years.
It's been a turbulent start to the season at Stamford Bridge with Eva Carneiro and Jon Fearn removed from the matchday staff after upsetting Jose Mourinho, while captain John Terry was substituted at half-time for the first time under the manager's reign on Sunday.

Now, hit-man Costa is offering a rallying cry to his team-mates in the fall-out of defeat at the Etihad Stadium, and he says immediate improvement is required ahead of the trip to West Bromwich Albion, where the the Blues lost 3-0 last season, coming up on Sunday.
'We need to improve right now, we need to do things better,' Costa said. 'But we need to keep a cool head and communicate better.
'The coach did the pre-season just as he needed to, our fitness is fine, we just need to win a game and everything will change.'

De Gea surprised at being left out

David De Gea is surprised at being left out of Manchester United’s team for the first two games of the season, BBC Sports reports.
Contrary to Louis van Gaal’s comments, sources close to De Gea say he never expressed a desire not to play.
De Gea has been training with United’s reserve team and will not be considered for selection by manager Van Gaal until the transfer window closes.
De Gea, 24, is wanted by Real Madrid. United are demanding a world record fee and defender Sergio Ramos in exchange.
Meanwhile De Gea had reportedly told club staff he was “not eager to play” before being left out of the opening game of the season.
De Gea was again been left out of the United squad for Friday’s Premier League game at Aston Villa.
“I’m not doing everything alone,” said Van Gaal. “I have two assistant coaches and a goalkeeping coach, FransHoek.

“Frans had a meeting with David De Gea. He fully agreed with our decision.”
Van Gaal said he and his staff had watched De Gea in training and the former Atletico Madrid player was “not the same as before”.

Mourinho confirms demotion of Chelsea medics

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho on Friday confirmed reports that team doctor Eva Carneiro and head physiotherapist Jon Fearn have been removed from match-day duties, but said it was not permanent, AFP reports.
Mourinho was angered when Carneiro and Fearn ran on to treat Eden Hazard during last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City, which temporarily left Chelsea with nine players due to ThibautCourtois’s earlier dismissal.
Reports emerged on Tuesday that Carneiro and Fearn would no longer attend matches or training sessions, but while Mourinho said they would not be on the bench for Sunday’s game at Manchester City, it was not a permanent move.
“Jon Fearn and DrCarneiro will not be on the bench, but it doesn’t mean Sunday is the rest of our season or our careers,” Mourinho told journalists at his weekly press conference.
“They won’t be on the bench on Sunday. That’s clear, it’s my decision, my responsibility, but it doesn’t mean they won’t be in the future.”
Mourinho did not disclose why Carneiro and Fearn had been sidelined for the trip to the Etihad Stadium, but said that he had a “very, very good relationship” with his medical department.
Speaking after the Swansea game, Mourinho said that Carneiro and Fearn had been “impulsive and naive” by going on to treat Hazard and said their behaviour showed that they did not “understand the game”.
